- Summer HS student, 2025
Kate Boka StaffDec 5, 2024 Hi there!
Happy to answer these:
1) Tuition for the 4 week Summer Intensive program is $3000, and for the 2 week sessions, tuition is $2000.
2) Dorm housing is available for those who need it through our partners at CCNY (https://ccnytowers.com/) for all sessions in 2025 is $2450, whether you are staying for 2 weeks or 4 weeks. Students are also welcome to secure their own housing and there usually is some availability for subletting a room or apartment from our full time program students who are off on a summer contract if that is of interest. The dorm rooms at CCNY are 4 individual bedroom suites with 2 bathrooms and a shared living room and kitchen. IAMT RAs live in the dorms with Summer Intensive students for the month and escort students back and forth to class each day.
3) Application and audition information for the Summer Intensive can be found on our portal (https://portal.iamt-nyc.com/apply). It's a fairly straightforward process, just enter some profile info, which session you want to attend and if you'll need dorm housing, then upload your picture/resume, an intro video, singing video and optional dance video.
4) Last summer's schedule for the first week is attached to give you a sense of the training. We have dance placements the first day and students are divided into 3 dance levels and then travel with their dance levels to their other classes. Weeks 2-4 are similar with some of the same and some additional Broadway faculty, plus we see a Broadway show, and bring in an agent and casting director for students to audition for (that usually happens week 3/4 so you have plenty of time to prepare). A few of our students from last summer were even signed by the agent we brought in!
5) There is no deadline, as we have rolling admissions. Once we have reached capacity, we will be full and will not be able to accept any more students to the Intensive. Usually as long as your application is in by the end of January, you will likely not run the risk of the Intensive being full. Once we get closer to Feb/March, enrollments start to pick up pretty quickly.
Please let me know if we can help with any additional questions!

Kate Boka StaffNov 14, 2024 Hi Kat -
Sorry we missed this originally! Yes, if you're interested in IAMT know about a performance or show, please email admissions@iamt-nyc with the information. We can't always attend everything, but we do love to be aware of as many performing arts organizations and shows for young artists as we can. Thanks for asking!

Aug 12, 2024 Hi Mackenzie -
Thanks so much for your interest in IAMT!
We are indeed an audition-based program, so all interested students must audition (in person or online) and be accepted in order to enroll. More details about that can be found on our website.
Currently, we are unable to offer international students a visa to attend the full time program. We are hopeful that may change in the coming years, but as of now, it is not possible. But I recommend you check back with us in another year or so and perhaps we'll have an update for you. You're welcome to email admissions@iamt-nyc with any further questions too.
Hi Anastassia -
Yes, you can adjust your program selection as needed. So if you pick the 1st 2 weeks and end up wanting to extend to 4 weeks, you can do that or if you need to switch to the 2nd 2 weeks due to your schedule, you can certainly make that change as well. We understand that summer schedules may not be totally clear far in advance, if you are accepted to the Summer Intensive, we will work with you to adjust your schedule if you need to change or extend it.
Just something to keep in mind about the two week sessions as you’re deciding on dates. We do find most students get the most out of the 4 week program, but certainly understand that students have busy summer schedules, so we do have many who come for 2 weeks instead. Those who come for the first two weeks have the benefit of starting together with everyone else but sometimes can feel like they are just getting started by the time the two weeks are over. Those who come to the 2nd two weeks can feel like they are jumping in head first and playing catch up initially, but usually settle in after a few days. The other thing to consider is that the agent and casting director usually come the second two weeks, just to give the students time to prepare. We also see a Broadway show with the students and while we try to put that during Week 2 so first 2 weeks students are able to attend, sometimes we are restricted by ticket availability on that, so that’s not guaranteed.
I hope this helps!
